Types of water
The source water of "Kotohogi Onsen", named after Nara Kashihara Shrine, is rich in minerals. Unlike water with added minerals, it is natural mineral water, so the particles are fine and the penetration power is high. Since no antiseptics or preservatives are used, it is easy to drink even at room temperature. The types of water are classified as follows according to the water sampling method.
Method of water sampling
- Mineral water
- Groundwater containing minerals collected by pumps, etc.
- Mineral spring water
- Groundwater containing minerals and spouting at a water temperature of less than 25 degrees Celsius
- Underground water
- Shallow groundwater
- Spring water
- Groundwater spouting from the ground
- Shallow well water
- Shallow well water
- Deep well water
- Deep well water
- Hot spring water
- Groundwater that contains minerals and spouts at a water temperature of 25 degrees Celsius or higher
What is hot spring water?
Hot spring water is groundwater with a temperature of 25 degrees or higher that is warmed by the heat of the earth's interior.
It contains more minerals such as calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium than tap water. According to the hot spring method, "hot spring water" is defined as such if it contains at least one of 19 specific ingredients at 25 degrees Celsius or higher. However, hot spring water that meets the requirements for classification as hot spring water does not necessarily mean that you can drink it as it is.
Since the ingredients of hot spring water vary depending on the quality of the hot spring, the efficacy of hot spring water also varies.
Hot spring water is originally cloudy with a lot of sulfur, so it is commonly referred to as "yu-no-hana" (flower of hot spring), or may be dark brown color due to the high iron content.
EMINERS, which contains a high content of hydrogen carbonate ions, has passed strict water quality tests and has been officially approved as a "hot spring water for drinking" that can be drunk safely. It is quite rare to find hot spring water that you can drink as it is.
EMINERS is a natural hot spring water that is rich in minerals!
EMINERS natural hot spring water contains hydrogen carbonate ions, metasilicic acid, silica, calcium, magnesium, as well as many minerals, and it is therefore attracting attention as the best drinking water for those who are interested in sports and beauty. It also contains calcium and magnesium at a ratio of about 2:1, which is said to be the “golden ratio” that is easily absorbed by the body.

Hazards of organic fluorine compounds (PFOS/PFOA)
Organic fluorine compounds (PFOS/PFOA) are chemical substances used for surface treatment of textile products, water and oil repellents, fire extinguishing agents, etc. Referred to as "forever chemicals," these substances do not easily decompose in the environment and are regulated worldwide. Due to the suspicion of environmental persistence, accumulation, and long-term toxicity, production and import are prohibited in Japan. PFOS/PFOA soil and rivers due to environmental pollution caused by factory wastewater. Contamination from groundwater has been observed in Japan as well, and at the present time, figures that exceeds the standard value have been recorded at 81 locations in 13 prefectures. If these substances accumulate in the body without knowing it, it can have a serious negative impact on your health.
EMINERS is safe!
Measurement results of EMINERS (Kotohogi Hot Spring Water)
Water quality tests for PFOS and PFOA, which are two types of organic fluorine compounds, have been conducted and confirmed to be below the target of 0.00005mg/ℓ (50 ng/ℓ or less) set by the government, and "less than 0.000001mg/ℓ" has also been confirmed. Because it is confirmed as safe water, you can enjoy it with peace of mind.

The Dangersof
Nitrate Nitrogen
Nitrate nitrogen poses a significant threat to water quality, acting as a problematic pollutant. Its tasteless, odorless, and colorless nature allows it to dissolve unnoticed into water sources, including those used for mineral water production. While nitrate nitrogen itself is not inherently harmful, it can undergo a chemical transformation within the body into nitrite nitrogen, a substance linked to various health issues, including cancer and methemoglobinemia. This transformation occurs when nitrite nitrogen reacts with hemoglobin, the oxygen-carrying protein in blood, forming methemoglobin, which is incapable of transporting oxygen. This disruption is particularly concerning for infants, whose developing digestive systems are more susceptible. The resulting decrease in blood oxygen can lead to severe consequences, including suffocation in extreme cases. A 2021 report highlighted the severity of this issue, revealing that 10 out of 17 infants hospitalized in Japan exhibited symptoms of methemoglobinemia, specifically "bluish discoloration of the face". The cause was traced to nitrate nitrogen levels exceeding safety limits in the water used to prepare their milk formula.

Natural Hot Spring Water EMINERS is
Nitrate-Free, Safe, and Pure
EMINERS is a natural hot spring water rich in minerals such as bicarbonate ions and silica. It is one of the rare natural waters globally where no nitrate nitrogen is detected. Take a look at the simplified nitrate nitrogen tests, including comparisons with other products. When the test reagent remains colorless, it indicates zero nitrate nitrogen, while higher concentrations cause the color to darken. For EMINERS, the test reagent showed no change, confirming that no nitrate nitrogen was detected.
